Giving
Give by e-Transfer Preferred
Thank you for deciding to give to CIT. Your donation helps us fulfill our mission as a church, to lead people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus.
Email money transfers (e-Transfers) allow you to donate directly from your bank account. Although they may take a little more effort to set up initially, they avoid payment-processing fees incurred with Online Giving, allowing the church to receive the full amount of your donation. For this reason, most donors choose to give by e-Transfer. Online giving and donation boxes are also available, as described below.
How to set up an Interac e-Transfer
Step 1
Sign in to your online bank and find Interac e-Transfers. These may also be called email money transfers.
Step 2
Add the church as a recipient of a transfer, with the following details:
- Name: Church in Toronto
- Email: give@churchintoronto.com
It’s important to get the email right. Save the new recipient and continue.
Step 3
Create a new e-Transfer and enter the following information:
- Recipient: Church in Toronto
- Message: N/A
- Amount: Choose the amount you’d like to donate. (Each bank has a daily transfer limit — typically $3,500.)
- Account: Choose the account you’d like to transfer money from.
Step 4
Send the transfer. The money will be automatically deposited in your name so that a donation receipt can be issued at the end of the year. Some banks also let you set up recurring transfers if you’d like.
Thank you so much for supporting the mission at CIT.
Other Ways to Give
Give Online
All donations are safe and secure. Tax receipts will be emailed to you directly from Church in Toronto at the beginning of the next year. Online giving is provided by Planning Center Giving.
Cash or Cheque
If you prefer to give by cash or cheque, you can do so using the donation envelopes available at church. Once you’ve filled out the front of the envelope, drop them into the offering box, located just outside the back auditorium doors.
